TRECC FACILITY YEAR IN REVIEW The TRECC facility has been busy this year, hosting more than 130 meetings, including 50 meetings with small and medium-sized enterprises as part of TRECC's technology transfer research mission. In total, TRECC has welcomed almost 1200 visitors (a 49% increase over the previous year) who represent a broad range of interests. Most came from entrepreneurial/small business or academic/educational backgrounds, but the areas of mid-to-large-sized businesses, government, and non-profit organizations were also represented. Tour highlights include:
TRECC has also hosted training sessions and several major events, including the Illinois Defense Industry Association meeting, the Illinois/Indiana Sun Grant Program, the West Chicago School District #33 training programs, a weeklong, virtual seminar for high school students sponsored by the Minority Serving Institutions / Joint Educational Facilities programs, and DuPage Airport Authority tenant meetings and Emergency Management Procedures for tenants. TRECC also served as a virtual satellite site for several meetings hosted by the MSCMC, including a session for an Iraqi delegation. TRECC was a satellite site for the 2004 Supercomputing Conference; the conference was 4 days and TRECC broadcasted the events. TRECC also participated in demonstrations with other virtual sites, showcasing the Immersavision and Teravision research projects.
Technology Showcase The Technology Showcase continues to be offered to city/county/state officials, federal government agencies, school administrations, chambers of commerce, first responders (fire, police), professional organizations, small, medium and large businesses, and the general public. The TRECC Center is located at 2700 International Drive, Suite 305, West Chicago, Illinois at the DuPage Airport. Administered by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the TRECC facility is open Monday through Friday, 08:00 - 17:00. Special arrangements are required for evening and weekend operations.
