FROM THE PROGRAM MANAGER

Have you ever wondered if you are working as efficiently as you could be working? In this newsletter we feature two technology tools, both of which facilitate interaction, collaboration, and knowledge management and sharing. The Educator Knowledge Center, which we announced recently, is now in use by the K-12 community. DISCUS, an emerging computer-supported collaborative tool fostering creative processes leading to decision-making, is focused on the research community, which depends heavily on peer-to-peer interaction.

Like you and every other computer user, we too have to deal with security issues. This time we are looking at the security of computing clusters. We believe that the research that we are now pursuing is a big step forward.

And if you are like me, you are facing information overload every day. There is just too much to sort through to find the most valuable stuff. We believe that the Extensible Brain project is a start in the right direction to help us deal with this dilemma.

If you haven't done so lately, visit our website for the latest on what we are doing. And if you are in the DuPage County area near our high-tech facility, take time to visit.
