TRECC EDUCATORS' KNOWLEDGE CENTER FEATURED SITE ON POPULAR EDUCATION WEB PAGE

You won't want to miss the December 2 Featured Site on the popular education web site Classroom Connect, a national resource for K-12 educators. TRECC is honored to have its Educators' Knowledge Center chosen to be a Featured Site. The following is what Classroom Connect looks for to choose Featured Sites.

Classroom Connect features the best sites the Web has to offer. They look for easy-to-use lesson plans, ask-an-expert lists, curriculum connections, ready references, and special attractions.

The TRECC Knowledge Center was released to the K-12 educators of Illinois in mid-September. Since then, interest has been climbing daily. One of the most popular collaboration tools in the Knowledge Center is the video conferencing component. Nancy Komlanc, Director of Education and Training for TRECC, initiated a web camera 'give-away' program to jump-start the use of the 9 video conferencing rooms. These rooms are open to registered K-12 Illinois educators. So far, Ms. Komlanc has given-away over 60 web cameras to K-12 educators who have submitted a viable plan to use the cameras in their classrooms. Pass along the following URL to qualifying educators you know who are interested in moving forward with technology in their schools.

And remember, check out Classroom Connect on December 2 to see one of NCSA's projects, TRECC, be honored as a featured site.
