TRECC FACILITY NEWS TRECC has been a buzz of activity for the last few months. Here are some of the major events we've hosted recently: In September, TRECC served as a remote site for "Big Broadband for National Security," a forum sponsored by the Multi-Sector Crisis Management Consortium (http://www.mscmc.org/). This is the third of a Quarterly Forum Series addressing the role of science, technology, culture, and education in counterterrorism and homeland security. Formed in July 2000, the Multi-Sector Crisis Management Consortium focuses on advancing development, knowledge, and application of information technology (IT) in emergency situations and meeting the needs of the crisis mitigation, response, and consequence management communities. In October, TRECC hosted a meeting and tour for members of the Illinois Defense Industry Association, which seeks to boost visibility for defense-related industries in the state of Illinois. In November, TRECC was a satellite location for the Supercomputing conference, specifically the SC Global events. TRECC was one of 72 sites connected for the week-long conference. TRECC participated in the demonstration of the Immersaview project (http://www.evl.uic.edu/cavern/agave/immersaview/) and a demonstration of the Teravision project (http://www.evl.uic.edu/cavern/optiputer/teravision.html). Both are research projects from the University of Illinois at Chicago's Electronic Visualization Laboratory (www.evl.uic.edu)
