Purpose:
The UIUC/NCSA Grand Challenge Award for Professional Development through Videoconferencing rewards innovation in Illinois schools, school districts, and Regional Offices of Education for using videoconferencing technology as a means of providing professional development for Illinois educators.

This is your opportunity to tell us your innovative ideas for utilizing videoconferencing as a resource to reach more educators in Illinois for Professional Development activities, as well as saving resources such as travel and time costs. You will be able to highlight how videoconferencing has enriched the learning experiences of administrators and classroom teachers to enrich curriculum, provide leadership training, etc. In the application we want to hear why you think your program is a success, examples of goals and activities, and participant feedback.

The winning entity will receive an additional web camera and a plaque with the institution and professional development coordinator(s) name(s) inscribed, as well as be a featured story on the TRECC website. We will also send a press release sharing your inspiring success story to your school, school district office, district ROE, local newspaper, and highlight the winner in an upcoming ICE newsletter.

Applicants will be judged based on the breadth and depth of their program as well as quality of application.
