Purpose:
The UIUC/NCSA Grand Challenge Award for Classroom Videoconferencing is to reward innovation in Illinois schools or school districts using videoconferencing technology in the classroom to increase the quality of education.

This is your opportunity to tell us your innovative ideas for utilizing videoconferencing as a resource in your classrooms and schools. You will be able to highlight how videoconferencing has enriched learning experiences for your students.

The winning school will receive an additional web camera and a plaque with the school and educator(s) name inscribed, as well as be a featured story on the TRECC website. We will also send a press release sharing your inspiring success story to your school, school district office, local newspaper, and highlight the winner in an upcoming ICE newsletter.

Applicants will be judged based on the breadth and depth of their program as well as quality of application.

Requirements for applicants:

  • Must have received a web camera through the UIUC Educators’ Knowledge Center     school scholarship program.
  • Must have received training on the Ed KC videoconferencing system by April 1, 2006.
  • Must complete the on-line award application below.
  • Criteria:

  • Explain why you think your program is a success
  • Give examples of videoconferencing activities
  • List the NETS and ISBE standards met
  • Give student reactions and feedback
