Description

This block describes a single technology available for licensing. All currently-available technologies should be included in the feed using this block. The PUBLISHEDDATE field is used by consumers to determine which technologies have been added since the last time they checked the feed.

The format of this date should be the W3CDTF profile of ISO 8601. For example, 2:45PM CST on December 6, 2005 in this format would be "2005-12-06T14:45:00-06:00".
<TECHID> </TECHID>Technology IDThis is the unique identifier that the institution has assigned to the technology to track it internally. This allows interested parties to be able to properly reference the technology when contacting the licensing institution.
<TITLE> </TITLE>TitleThis is the title/short name of the technology.
<OVERVIEW> </OVERVIEW>OverviewBrief 1-paragraph introduction to the technology and its capabilities.
<TRL> </TRL>Technology Readiness Level (TRL)The Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of this technology. The TRL is a US federal government standard for measuring a technology's maturity level and readiness for the marketplace. It allows technologies to be assigned a ranking from a conceptual idea on up to a thoroughly tested production application.
<BENEFITS> </BENEFITS>BenefitsWhat are the unique benefits of the technology such that others would be interested in it?
<APPLICATIONS> </APPLICATIONS>ApplicationsWhat are potential uses of the technology?

<IPPROTECTION> </IPPROTECTION>Intellectual Property ProtectionAre there any patents filed? Is the technology covered by copyright, trademark, or other forms of protection?
<PATENT COUNTRY=""> </PATENT>Patent ProtectionLists a single patent. The country the patent is issued in should appear in the COUNTRY attribute and between the tags should appear the patent number. Do not include commas in the number. This block can appear multiple times if there are multiple patents issued on this technology.
<STATUS> </STATUS>Technology Status/ReadinessIs the technology in conceptual stage, or is a working prototype available? Is the technology in final polished form ready for market?
<DETAILS> </DETAILS>DetailsDetailed description of the technology.
<CATEGORY> </CATEGORY>CategoryA category that this technology falls under. This block can appear multiple times if there are multiple categories that this technology falls under. At the present time categories are not standardized, so institutions should use their existing category taxonomies.
<TECHPROFILEURL URL=""> </TECHPROFILEURL>Technology Profile URLAllows a link to the institution's own profile page about this technology to be provided. The URL attribute should be used to specify the URL of the page and the title of the page or other descriptive title for the link should be provided between the tags. Only one of these blocks may appear in the entry.
<BROCHUREURL URL=""> </BROCHUREURL>Product Brochure URLAllows a link to a product brochure (usually a PDF file) for this technology to be provided. The URL attribute should be used to specify the URL of the page and the title of the page or other descriptive title for the link should be provided between the tags.
<RELATEDURL URL=""> </RELATEDURL>Related URLAllows a link to related information about this technology to be provided. The URL attribute should be used to specify the URL of the page and the title of the page or other descriptive title for the link should be provided between the tags. This is often used to link to the department's homepage whose faculty developed the technology, to published papers on the technology, or other related "background" information that can help potentially interested parties learn more about the technology. This block may appear multiple times if there are multiple URLs that should be included in the listing.
<CONTACTINFO>ContactInfo Opening TagThis begins the CONTACTINFO block that contains the NAME, PHONE, FAX, EMAIL, and MAIL fields. This is the person that a party interested in licensing the technology would contact for further details. If this field is left blank, the DEFAULTCONTACT information found in the file is used.
<NAME> </NAME>NameThis is the name of the responsible party that interested parties should contact for more information about licensing the technologies in this file.
